摘要

Eighteen dogs were subjected to a radiologic transvascular technique to achieve adrenal ablation. The methods of approach involved either reflux of agents into the adrenal venous sinuses or direct intniparenchymal injection. Renagrafin-76, sodium morrhuute, vinyl acetate, and phenol were the agents injected. A catheter was placed in the femoral vein by the Seldinger technique and selectively positioned in the phrcntco-abdomtnalis vein for extravasation or for passage of a corkscrewtipped guidewire to form a tract for intraparenchymal injection. Morphological effects ranged from congestion and hemorrhage to necrosis affecting varying regions of the parenchyma. Parenchymal necrosis occurred in 7 of 18 dogs. Of these dogs, six showed diminished plasma cortisol. One dog developed clinical and laboratory signs of acute adrenal failure.
