Virial Expansion of the Osmotic Pressure in the Donnan Membrane Equilibrium

Two methods for refining the usual Donnan treatment of the Donnan membrane equilibrium are introduced and compared. One method is to apply the McMillanhyphen;Mayer solution theory while the second method involves modifying the Donnan treatment to include Debyehyphen;Huuml;ckel corrections to activity coefficients and osmotic pressure expressions.
