摘要

The line shapes for microwave absorption and dispersion, depolarized Raman spectrum and the sound absorption of oxygen gas were calculated. The EPR spectrum and rotational relaxation cross sections were determined. The microwave spectrum of O2ndash;Ar mixtures and the low pressure Raman spectrum of O2ndash;Ar were also calculated for a range of densities at 298deg;thinsp;K and 283deg;thinsp;K. Good agreement was achieved with experimental results. The calculations were done using a 3hyphen; or 4hyphen;body potential, whichever was appropriate, whose parameters were determined partly from theory and partly by comparison with nonspectral data. The results showed sensitivity to variations in the potential and thus indicate the applicability of the computations for the study of intermolecular interactions, specifically their anisotropy, as well as their direct usefulness in prediction of various spectral relaxation phenomena.
