Intracavity C atom absorption in the tuning range of the ArF excimer laser

Our tunable ArF excimer laser has no laser action in a region around 51thinsp;790 cmminus;1due to an intracavity 3thinsp;1Plarr;2thinsp;1DC atom absorption. This has a direct consequence for the interpretation of the photodissociation processes in CO at 193 nm.
