Is building a low-level island that will be subject to sea level increases really such a bright idea? One presumes that dredging will be required to construct it. I am sure the people of East Anglia will be pleased to know that their houses falling over a cliff will be going to such a noble cause! The whole thing will be a folly of epic proportions. I have difficulties in believing that anyone would seriously consider closing down Heathrow airport, even as a long-term plan. Would this not be another political manoeuvre to distract attention from the current third runway proposal? Or even worse, an opportunity to build yet another airport near London?
