Scaling relations and analytic solution for the Thomasndash;Fermi metalndash;dielectric surface

We give an explicit solution for a jellium metalndash;dielectric interface in the Thomasndash;Fermi approximation. The solution obeys a scaling relation which permits solutions for any egr; to be obtained from the solution with egr; = 1. The resutls are useful as a guide to the study of several metalhyphen;insulator and electrochemical problems. (AIP)
