A forum to discuss a heat treatment roadmap for China, hosted by IFHTSE member the Chinese Heat Treatment Society (CHTS) in Xiamen on 11-13 May 2012, attracted 260 delegates from universities, R&D organisations and industrial companies. The scope of the forum, 'innovation in heat treatment for manufacturing industry', included: vacuum heat treatment, high energy surface modification, induction treating, virtual heat treatment, plant and equipment and heat treatment for heavy forging, among other topics.
