The interaction potentials of SF6ions in SF6parent gas determined from mobility data

All available data, including some as yet unpublished, concerning the mobility of SF6ions in SF6as the parent gas are critically reviewed. All mobilities can be attributed to one of the following five ions: SF+5, SFminus;5, SFminus;6, SFminus;6(SF6), and SFminus;6(SF6)2. Starting from the SF+5ion, which represents the only complete data set over the wholeE/nrange, we found (9,6,4) potentials, which reproduce the measured mobilities of all ions very well. The potential parameters corresponding to the above mentioned sequence of ions are ggr;=0.660, 0.625, 0.683, 0.709, 0.753, andr0=4.0, 4.0, 4.05, 4.72, 5.03 Aring;, respectively.
