摘要

We designed and synthesized a series of tryptophan (Trp) containing molecules R1-R5 with an aim to study their selfassembly and molecular recognition properties. These Trpbased designer compounds showed unique self-assembly, dye-encapsulation, and anion binding properties. All Trp-compounds reported here showed " turn-on" fluorescence with H2PO4-. Compound R2 showed sensing of I-, while R4 formed organogel with good mechanical strength.
