摘要

ABSTRACTA number of different techniques are reported in the literature for the extraction and purification of theobromine as well as quantitative methods following purification. This research note reports a procedure offering considerable time saving for the determination of theobromine inT. cacao, C acuminataandC arabicaThe procedure incorporates the Wadsworth extraction technique, gradient elution partition chromatography and quantitative estimation of theobromine spectrophotometrically.
