Measurement of surface area, pore size distribution, and density of raw materials in food and drug industries

Specific surface area of magnesium stearate and lactose were measured by means of gas adsorption methods. Then, the degassing conditions were investigated in relation to the thermal analysis data. Pore size distributions were also measured in order to compare the magnesium stearate powder with its green body. Also, the dry method was applied to the measurement of density of dairy products, in the food industry.
