摘要

Thermoelectric power measurements have been made on nonstoichiometric agr;hyphen;Nb2O5over the temperature range from 300deg; to 1270deg;K. The measurements show that, for all compositions in the singlehyphen;phase, agr;hyphen;Nb2O5mdash;xregion (0.0012le;xle;0.1545), the majority charge carriers are electrons. These thermoelectric power data have been interpreted in terms of a simple semiconductor exhibiting conduction in a narrowdband with the conduction electrons being assigned an effective mass equal to four times that of the rest mass.
