The rsquo;rsquo;invertedrsquo;rsquo; Drudehyphen;Sellmeier formula, for a twohyphen;parameter freehyphen;electronhyphen;gas spectrum of plasmon excitations, is evaluated for very large values of the line breadth. These function values for 1/egr;(ohgr;) characterize a solid dominated by a freehyphen;electron plasma with short rsquo;rsquo;damping time,rsquo;rsquo; over the ultraviolet range. A rounded energyhyphen;loss distribution is suggested at the critical damping limit.
