A coincidence of the Te I emission line at 2147.25 Aring; with theQ1(21sol;2) and theQP21(21sol;2) absorption lines of the (1, 0) band of the NO ggr; system is used to perform a Hanlehyphen;effect measurement on thevprime;equals;1,Nprime;equals;10 level of the NOA2Sgr;plus;state. A linear least squares fit to the pressurehyphen;broadened data yields an intercept of3.37 plusmn; 0.36thinsp;Gfor the zerohyphen;pressure linewidth and a slope of12.7 plusmn; 2.4thinsp;mGsol;mtorr. By measuring the zerohyphen;field polarization of the resolved fluorescence lines, the ratio of the hyperfine splitting to the rotational spin splitting is estimated to be less than or equal to 1:5, and the angular momentum coupling scheme is found to conform closely to Hund's case (bbgr;J). An optical radiohyphen;frequency double resonance study provides further confirmation. Usinggvalues appropriate to Hund's case (bbgr;J), the radiative lifetime is determined to be178 plusmn; 19thinsp;nsec. These results are in excellent agreement with the previous Hanlehyphen;effect measurements by German, Zare, and Crosley on thevprime;equals;1,Nprime;equals;13 level.
