A round the world Pekin duck production is targeting more or less the ksame body weight standard in the final product. However, the means of production, especially at breeder duck farm level, differs greatly between one part of the world and another.In addition, there are differences due to the fact that the duck housing is usually adapted to local climate needs and to the local materials that are available for their construction. We see many types of closed and dark duck sheds in areas where winter temperatures are cold, but in in south East Asia where the yearly average temperature is always well above 20°C open-sided buildings as well as buildings equipped with cool pads are seen.
