A frequency weighted sum rule for vibrational circular dichroism intensities

It is shown that the sum of vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) intensities of fundamental bands, with each VCD band intensity weighted by the inverse square of vibrational frequency, of isotopic molecules are related through inverse force constant matrix elements. This relation, similar to that for the absorption intensities, is useful for determining the force constants from the experimental data.
