Turbo coded ARQ schemes using SNR estimator

摘要

In Turbo coded hybrid ARQ schemes, repeat request is generated based on the error detection by CRC (cyclic redundancy check) codes or some parameter which varies in iterative decoding. In this report, we propose a new Turbo coded hybrid ARQ scheme, in which a new parameter derived by an SNR estimator is used as a criterion for repeat request. By computer simulation, it is shown that the proposed scheme can attain better bit error rate and fewer number of decoding iterations than the CRC-based ARQ scheme.
