Photographic Development as a Catalyzed, Heterogeneous Reaction

摘要

Development is considered as a catalyzed reaction which takes place at the interface between the silver nuclei and the solid silver halide crystal. Silver atoms formed at the interface may migrate along the silver surface for some distance before they become incorporated into the silver lattice. An explanation of filament formation is given on this basis.
