During the RCN congress this month, patient engagement is a key topic that nurses should be discussing. There is increasing evidence that patients who are better informed and more engaged in their own care are more likely to be knowledgeable, to follow their chosen treatment plans and to have better lifestyle, quality of life and wellbeing.
