Superior organic fertilizers for the production of diverse range of food products from plant sources have considerably increased in the last several years. It has aided in significant improvement of yields in grain and cereal cultivations. In the present paper, we discuss the field studies obtained by adding water soluble organic fertilizer "Plant Catalyst" (PC) produced by fermentation of fish protein hydrolysate. Leuconostoc mesenteroides MRLCC 01 (Microcore Research laboratory Culture collection)strain, under stringently, controlled media conditions, with fish protein hydrolysate as the primary substrate was used to produce a high quality fertilizer. Field studies using PC were performed in paddy cultivations across many places in southern India. It was found PC treated paddy reduced stunt growth, which increased overall yield by ~ 20 % in comparison to other commercial fertilizers. Dosage of average 2 liters per acre was found to induce better growth and increased size of grains with higher mass.
