Construction of a £1 -1 m super-hangar to house BAC Concorde G-BOAC at the Manchester Airport Viewing Park is due to begin in the spring. The 225ft × 125ft glass, steel and PVC structure will also house a corporate hospitality suite for up to 75 delegates, an education centre for school tours, an aviation exhibition and a glass-walled restaurant with views of the runways. It is hoped that the building will welcome its first visitors in July. The airport's Operations Director, Andrew Holl, says, "I'm delighted that work is now going to be able to start on the hangar for this important piece of aviation history". The aircraft arrived at Manchester on October 31, 2003, and attracts 250,000 visitors a year.
