A Smoothening Based JPEG Compression for an Objective Image Quality Enhancement of Regular and Noisy Images

摘要

Over the past decades the enormity of conveyed information through internet has augmented exponentially. Image compression is a significant technique to constrict an image. JPEG is the core dominant still image compression for band width preservation. So images can be accumulated and transmitted earlier. In this paper, we plan an inventive JPEG compression algorithm based on image smoothening operators mean, median, weighted mean and weighted median. The intended JPEG algorithms proves superior outcomes compared to standard JPEG compressed data in terms of image encoded bits on both noise less and images corrupted with speckle and Gaussian noise. The intended JPEG algorithms enhances speed while reduce memory provisions by plummeting the encoded bits. The reconstructed images after decompression are at par with the original image data.
