Incineration of Sludge: Auto-thermal Operation of Bubbling Fluid Bed Incinerators

With steadily growing amounts of sludge from waste water treatment and increasingly stringent legislation for landfill and soil amendment, sludge incineration becomes more and more important. This paper attempts to provide a design basis for bubbling fluidised bed incinerators, which are especially suitable for sludges with a low combustible content.
