To realize a more gentle and easy-to-use computer interface, the development of a new type of intelligent mechanism is needed. The Association Mechanism is the key technology. The Association Mechanism consists of a concept base, which is an accumulation of various concepts (meaning of words), and the calculation algorithm of degree of association, which evaluates the strength of relation between concepts quantitatively. In order to continue a conversation smoothly, the intelligent mechanism needs a practical association and judgment function concerning size, time, place, speed, sense, emotion, etc. This function consists of a small-scale basic judgment knowledge base, which is made by human hand, and the association process of a large-scale concept base, which is made automatically. As a result, proper judgment (commonsense judgment) concerning concepts not in the judgment knowledge base is possible.
