A method for estimating high frequency resistance of induction micro-coils is presented. This method accounts for the so-called proximity effect arising due to the interaction between the turns of the coil. This method is also used in calculating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of induction micro-coils used as detectors of NMR signals. It is shown that the proximity effect plays an essential role in determining the optimum geometrical parameters of the micro-coil NMR detectors.
