Microstrip Antenna Design with Circular Polarization Property for RF Energy Harvesting application

摘要

this paper presents a microstrip stacked antenna design at 2. 45 GHz embedded with defected ground structure (DGS) to achieve a dual circular polarization property. The proposed design is simulated using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Studio Suite 2015 and 4. 4 relative permittivity low cost FR-4 substrates are used. This antenna is able to capture the ambient signals in all polarizations which eliminates the polarization loss associated with linear polarized antennas. The simulated antenna design shows an axial ratio of 0. 53dB, 8dB gain, -35 dB return loss, 1. 19 VSWR and bandwidth of 216MHz. This antenna can be implemented in RF energy harvesting systems as it can achieve the desired performance needed for such application.
