摘要

Computational wind engineering as a new branch of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been developed recently to evaluate the interaction between wind and buildings numerically. In this paper an attempt has been made for comprehensive numerical study of wind effects on tall building considering corner modification of geometric plan shape of tall building. For that initially a tall building having square geometric plan configuration have been considered and then it has been modeled in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Code namely Fluent/Gambit to obtain wind force coefficient (Cf). Then, corner modification in the form of corner chamfering is done in terms of different percentage of plan dimension of building to obtain wind force coefficient for different incident wind direction. The study is also executed for different terrain conditions. The techniques of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), such as Standard k-ε Simulation, were adopted in this study to predict wind loads on and wind flow around the building. For the study, commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code Fluent has been used to generate computational domain around building then effect of corner chamfering of geometric plan shape of tall building on wind force coefficient has been examined.
