New Relationship to Determine Electric Field on the Conductor Surface of Bundled Transmission Lines

Electric field of bundled transmission line is usually calculated by replacing bundled conductors by a single conductor with equivalent radius. The empirical formula R_(eq)=r_b((nr_0)/(r_b))~(1) gives the equivalent radius which the "n", "r_b", and R_(eq) are respectively the number of bundle, bundle radius and the equivalent conductor radius. Maximum electric field calculation using the equivalent conductor radius results not accurate values. Since maximum electric filed value is normally used in computations of the corona loss, the audible noise and radio interference, so it is important to apply the more accurate method. In this paper, on the basis of electric charge simulation method, a new relationship is developed to determine maximum electric field of bundled high voltage transmission lines.
