摘要

Conventional demosaiking methods do not consider the resolution modus of sensors. Therefore, the resulting images incur problems in image quality degradation such as color artifacts (color moire and zipper). In this paper, an advanced demosaiking algorithm for variable resolution modus of sensors has been proposed. The algorithm consists of an edge prediction step using scene-optimized compensation parametersin order to detect a correct edge direction and a following refinement step for high frequency contents interpolation using minimum number of surrounding pixels. To compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with conventional methods, an objective quality measurement by the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and a subjective evaluation by Mean Opinion Score (MOS). Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is more successful in eliminating the color artifacts than conventional methods judging by both objective and subjective criteria.
