Measuring Software Requirements Quality Following Negotiation through Empirical Study

Eliciting requirements is crucial to ensure that the design and the development are based on the right requirements. The process of requirements elicitation is not straight forward and usually cumbersome due to the existence of multiple resources with different perspectives. This research aims at providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of negotiation effort during requirements elicitation process to improve software requirements quality. Empirical studies were carried out to show the improvement in six quality attributes after negotiation. The results showed that the requirements quality improves in two-fold; both in overall quality of requirements set and in individual quality attributes.
