Introduction to Electrical Capacitance Tomography and its Measurement Circuitry

Electrical Capacitance Tomography is employed to obtain the information about the spatial distribution of a mixture of dielectric materials inside a vessel, by measuring the electrical capacitances between the sets of electrodes placed around its periphery and converting them into an image showing the distribution of permittivity. In this paper introduction to capacitance tomographical technique is given and the existing transduction mechanisms are described.
