One Dimensional Numerical Modeling of a Parallel Flow Type Thermoelectric Generator

摘要

Mathematical and numerical modeling are now regarded as essential tools to design and optimize of any system in a cost effective and efficient manner. This paper presents two one dimensional, steady state models developed for simulation of large scale parallel flow type Thermoelectric Generators. Solving approach of such models is discussed. Further a comparative study of the models is also made. Open circuit voltage, electrical power generated, overall efficiency and conversion efficiency were the parameters chosen for comparison. Comparing the results obtained from the two models show slight disagreement w.r.t. voltage, power and overall efficiency, whereas conversion efficiency was found to be deviating significantly.
