Getting in on Active - The Newell family had a vision and the result is one very successful business

Martin Newell Sr. started his radiator repair business - Active Radiator - in 19.53 and specialized in truck and industrial repair, and business was good. But he and his son Marty shared a larger vision. Thirty-four years after the repair shop first opened its doors they decided to start manufacturing heavy-duty products and opened Active Radiator Heavy Duty Products in 1987. While his father stayed with the repair shop, Marty ran the new operation. "Without my father's vision and support, [Active] would not have been born," he says. Through the years, Marty also relied heavily on his sister Jacqui for help with the daily operation of the business. Jacqui provided support in virtually every area of the business and when a task needed to be done, she was there.
