摘要

The Power Line medium designed for electrical energy distribution, therefore several types of machines and appliances are connected to it, producing unpredictable distortions. Power Line Communication (PLC) technology ads another task to this medium by using Power Line as communication Channel. Like all other communications channels, the Power Line medium introduces attenuation and phase shift on the signals transmitted, these distortions are increase with the length of the line and the frequency of the signal transmitted. In this paper investigations of Power Line Characteristics have been realized by focusing on the signal behaviors transmitted through Power Lines for different electrical cable lengths and various appliances connectivity. This research has been supported by simulation of the Power Line channel and the noises expected in this channel using SIMULINK.
