Growing plants in greenhouses allow producers to grow plants at a time when it would be impossible to grow outside because of the weather. The purpose of a greenhouse is to maintain an environment that promotes optimum plant production. This paper deals on modeling, simulation and control of medical herb greenhouse based on solar thermal heating system. Solar thermal heating system is designed for growing the Catharanthus roseus (Vinca rosea) medical herb inside the suggested greenhouse in Saint Catherine, Sinai, Egypt. Catharanthus roseus is an important medicinal herb that has been put to traditional use for the treatment of a wide variety of ailments worldwide since ages. This herb produces a group of alkaloids that are used as chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of several types of cancers. This paper introduces a complete mathematical modeling for the greenhouse solar thermal system. For adjusting the climate inside a greenhouse, Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is developed to set the greenhouse temperature at 30℃. Simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK is performed to confirm the capability of the developed control technique for controlling the greenhouse temperature.
