The application of some spherical reference theories to the hard spheroid fluid

We apply three different spherical reference theories to the isotropic phase of the hard spheroid fluid. Of these three, the theory due to Barker and Henderson lsqb;J. Chem. Phys.47, 4714 (1967)rsqb; gives the best equation of state. It would not seem, however, to predict an isotropicndash;nematic phase transition.
