Effects of Geometrical and Processing Parameters on Rod Extrusion using Modelling Material

In this study an attempt has been made to study the effect of geometrical and processing parameters on rod extrusion using plasticine experiments. Five die cross sections viz Circular, Square, Triangular, L-section, I-section and five ram speeds viz. 5, 10, 15, 20 & 25 mm/min are accounted for this purpose. Extrusion ratios are kept constant. Effect of these parameters on extrusion load and surface finish are critically examined.
