Following on from the extremely popular Croydon Calling! feature in this year's July 2008 issue, this month's offering is from the same collection of large-format glass-plate negatives taken at what was thenLondon's main airport in 1932. In common with those other recently rediscovered glass plates, this one is a crystal-clear, pin-sharp image of one of the iconic British airliners of the late 1920s and early 1930s, the Armstrong Whitworth Argosy, seven of which were operated by Imperial Airways on European services between 1926 and 1935.
