This paper attempts to quantify the electromyogram (EMG) signals across a wide range of individuals and draws a pattern on the nature of signals with respect to different age groups. The EMG signals acquired from the Abductor digiti minimi (ADM) muscle under three different situations were analyzed using time and frequency domain techniques and wavelet analysis. The results showed - probably for the first time - that the signal can be successfully quantified against age groups. Comparing these with data from the diseased, will provide clinicians a tool for early diagnosis of neuropathic disorders.
