Optoelectronic Properties of Dome-Shaped Substrate UV Detector with Optical Coating

摘要

In this work I built a UV sensor which has a wide view angle and high sensitivity. The device was developed based on zinc oxide (ZnO) nonorodes that was introduced using hydrothermal technique. Detector view angle of around 180° was achieved by growing the ZnO nanorodes on a dome-shaped glass substrate. Due to the high reflectivity of the Aluminum (Al) optical coating for UV light at 365 nm, a thin layer of Al was deposited at the back-side of the substrate to act as a UV reflector. This reflector improved the detector sensitivity by around 80% as it functions as a light passive amplifier. The device observes fast response for both discrete and continuous light signals. The unique architecture and excellent optoelectronic properties make this detector candidate for industrial applications.
