A detailed analysis of the various contingencies that can occur on the pre-reform 330KV Nigeria power network was simulated in this paper. The methodology involves performing an in-depth power flow analysis on the 330KV network and then subjecting it to the various contingencies. The simulation was done using Newton-Raphson technique in MATLAB program. The findings revealed that the network is characterised with some level of instability in terms of voltage and thermal limit violations. Recommendations were however made with a view to strengthen the network so as to attain reasonable degree of reliability in its operations.
