摘要

This paper presents the effect of drive train modeling in an induction generator (IG). Simulations carried out in PSCAD/EMTDC were limited to the two-mass and the one-mass models. Results of simulations show that more reactive power is consumed with the use of the two-mass model. Hence, the two-mass drive train model is recommended when the actual amount of reactive power, consumed by the IG during transient is put into consideration for stability analysis in a wind farm with IG.
