A 60-year-old man with extensive, treatment resistant Paget's disease of bone causing spinal neural compression, was treated with three courses of plicamycin and vinblastine between July and December 1986. The result of a follow-up bone scan with Tc-99m MBP in January 1990 was suggestive of metastatic cancer. Roentgenographic evaluation revealed only residual Paget's disease. The patient showed no evidence of cancer in subsequent follow-up.
