This special issue of International Journal of Andrology contains the proceedings of the 3rd Copenhagen Workshop on Environment, Reproductive Health and Fertility, 15-18 January 2005. The 1st workshop was held 27-30 May 2000, and proceedings published in APMIS (Suppl. No. 103, Vol 109, 2001. ISSN 0903-465x, ISBN 87-16-16462-8). The recent 3rd workshop gathered researchers with different expertise, many of them are world leaders in their fields. The main aim of the workshop was to discuss the recently observed trends in declining fertility rates and a possible impact of increasing disorders of male reproduction. Probably for the first time demographers met with scientists in reproductive medicine and endocrinology, paediatrics, reproductive biology, toxicology and epidemiology and discussed recent declining trends in fertility rates.
