Yorkville (IL), USA - An automatic, rotary-arm, scoop-type sampling system from Bristol Equipment Company draws samples of bulk material from belt conveyors moving at speeds of up to 3.12 m/s (615 ft/min), and deposits the samples into an open or closed receptacle standing alongside the belt. Bristol's third-generation DS-3B sampler, with standard 76 mm (3 in) wide scoop, reaches into material on the conveyor and captures up to 262 cm~3 (16 in~3) of sample per cycle in particulate sizes up to 38 mm (1.5 in) in diameter. Other scoop sizes are optionally available. Automatic sampling cycles are user-adjustable from every 10 s to every 1700 h.
