The theory of Zimm for the viscoelastic properties of dilute polymer solutions is expanded into a more general treatment containing both the theories of Rouse and Zimm as limiting cases. This treatment predicts a transition from Zimmhyphen;like to Rousehyphen;like behavior with changing hydrodynamic interaction. Values of Flory's PHgr; as a function of the hydrodynamic interaction parameterhare tabulated.
