A de-correlating detector (DD) is a powerful device that can eliminate interference in CDMA multi-user detection. However, it shows considerable noise enhancement effect in the process of solving the de-correlating matrix (DM) equation. A new DD is proposed whose DM consists of pilot response itself. Additional techniques such as using spreading sequences with guards and dummy pilot insertion into DM are adopted. This DD indicates a function that significantly reduces the noise amplification, resulting in significant performance improvement.
