Rehabilitation of Collateral Ligament Injury

Clinical and laboratory studies have altered the management of medial collateral ligament tears to include many nonoperative protocols. Early mobilization and functional rehabilitation have resulted in rapid recovery and return to athletic competition. Studies involving lateral compartment injuries remain scarce and continue to emphasize operative management and immobilization.
