摘要

Theory for bound states and photodissociation of triatomic molecules based on the IOSA is developed. The theory is appled to the energy levels and photopredissociation of the Hendash;I2van der Waals complex. The observed vibrational excitations are shown to be due to the librational mode and the two peaks observed experimentally (Xprime;=1 andWprime;=1 excitations) are shown to arise from interaction between librations about skewed and near collinear configuration. A small librational barrier (sim;1 cmminus;1) is postulated to exist. Interference effects between direct photofragmentation and the resonance enhanced (predissociation) process, as well as interferences between two angular ranges leading to rotational rainbow type phenomena, are predicted to exist.
