摘要

To avail the quality foodstuff with high productivity and sustainable agriculture, Bt-transgenic is being encouraged. Bio-safety appraisal of such transgenic crop is a must before they can be adopted for commercial cultivation. The nutritional contentof non transgenic and Bt-transgenic variety of cabbage was compared for the reason. The potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur and proteins was taken can be taken as criteria to judge whether there is any adverse effect due to insertion of an alien gene. The transgenicity study of the cabbage was confirmed by PCR. The average protein content in the non-transgenic plant was 10.92 mg/g. The protein content did not very significantly in the transformed plant. The average content of phosphorus in transgenic was 2.73 whereas in non-transgenic cabbage, it was 3.14 mg/g. There was no significant difference of nutrient contents like calcium, magnesium and sulphur content in transgenic cabbage plant in between the lines and variety and the phosphorus content were also within the known limits.
